I try to engage people on Facebook but it doesn't seem to work out all that well. In some ways it seems like Facebook isn't meant for engagement but for fun. Even people I've known for years don't really engage all that often on Facebook. I just figure it is what it is.

Great advice! When I interviewed someone, I would always mention "I might ask you the same question twice because I'm trying to get a different answer out of you. Because we are taping this interview, feel free to stop or even ask me questions during our 'conversation'." It puts the interviewee at ease because they understand there's not a pressure to get the answer right during the first take. This is also good advice for media trainers to have their executive or spokesperson establish this sort of dialogue with the reporter when applicable.

Great advice, Shawne. Guys need TV pointers, too. Neutral colors for suits and shirts (light blue shirt always works, not white) and no big stripes for shirts and ties. Causes a lot of on-screen resonance, which is distracting.
